Why Do we acccept everything we see as being true

Why do we  look at reality through such a narrow perspective. We accept almost everything we see as being true, and almost never do we question want is fed to us via the media or friends? posted here will be a lot of questionable media and I want honest opinions please no profanity or nude pictures. thanks in advance
